Light · Candle Holder
A pierced porcelain votive, hand-cut with several hundred holes so that a single flame becomes a room full of small lights.
$79
Each hole in Lunar Light is pierced by hand through a wall around two millimetres thick, then the vessel is fired once at cone 10 with a clear celadon glaze. Because the holes are cut individually, the lattice varies subtly from piece to piece — the pattern breathes rather than repeats.
With a candle inside, the light leaves through every opening and lands across the surface it stands on. In daylight the piece is a quiet white bowl; after dark it becomes the warmest object in the room.
Hand wash in warm water. Do not put it in a dishwasher or thermal-shock it — the pierced wall is thin and does not like sudden temperature change.
