Plum Branch is deliberately small and weighted at the base. The proportions follow 瓶花 vase-flower practice, where a single branch matters more than an arrangement: the vase exists to hold one line at the right angle, not to hold a bunch.
The body is matte and unglazed outside, with the interior sealed so it holds water. The narrow neck is cut to support a woody stem at an angle, which is why a single plum or quince branch stands up rather than flopping.
Rinse the interior and let it dry completely between uses. The exterior is unglazed, so wipe spills rather than soaking the piece.
